What you are trying to accomplish is logo recognition. You really don't need to have all the information about your company within a logo. Also text that is smaller then 1/4 inch in height will not look good at all in your finished product. Bottom line is artwork that may look good on a computer screen may not look as good in the sewn format. The next step will be taking your logo and your apparel to your embroiderer Depending on who you are using these two steps may be intertwined within the process. The next big step is to get a sample sew out if this is a first time logo. Most all embroiderers will provide a sample to cover themselves as well as the customer. This sample can be done on a scrap piece of material or on an actual piece of apparel. If this will be done on the actual apparel please remember to provide one extra for this purpose. There will more then likely be many sew outs while the digitizer is attempting to make your logo work. The final one will be the one needed to be approved. The branding of your business and the placement of your business logo through custom embroidery is a marketing tactic that requires a careful hand and expertise. Custom
embroidery digitizing machines and the digitizing effort can only take the logo design so far. If the custom embroidery machine is run by an inexperienced embroider the product will be of far less quality. Let us assume you already have a clean and crisp raster or vector file of your logo. Popular raster file formats include JPG, GIF, and BMP. Popular vector file formats include AI, CDR, and EPS. Whatever image file format you may have, unfortunately, computerized embroidery machines will not be able to embroider your logo using any type of "image" or "graphics" file due to the simple fact that embroidery machines do not understand them. Computers are common and can be used for virtually anything including digitizing embroidery designs. Digitizing for embroidery involves a far amount of skill and not something you can jump straight into without some training. Nevertheless and all potential problems aside, digitizing can give you a cleaner, more professional image. You may find that custom embroidery digitizing is just the boost that your home based embroidery business needs to take it to the next level.
